This includes items such as pallets, crates, and dunnage. Compliance with ISPM 15 is essential for businesses engaged in cross-border shipments to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods.
A key requirement of ISPM 15 is the heat treatment of WPM. This process involves heating the wood to a minimum core temperature of 56°C (132.8°F) for at least 30 minutes to eliminate pests and pathogens. Following this treatment, the WPM must be marked with the ISPM 15 stamp, which serves as proof of compliance and facilitates smooth customs clearance.
